A. Everyone needs an estate plan regardless of the size of your assets. An estate plan allows you to appoint someone to manage your assets if you become incapacitated, make health care decisions, and decide how you want your property distributed.

If you don’t have an estate plan, a judge will appoint someone to handle your assets and they will be distributed to your heirs according to law. This may not be the best for everyone, especially if you have relatives that you do not want your assets to go to. Estate planning allows you much greater control and flexibility for handling your assets and property.
